Even When the Mountains Fall Into the Sea
Psalm 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Have you ever witnessed mountains falling into the sea? I haven’t but I can imagine it would be a scary event and cause a certain amount of fear.
I love the psalm above because it challenges my small view of God. The author is calling us to increase our understanding of just how great God is. Because He is always with us we truly have no reason to fear - even when the mountains fall into the sea.
And for many of us our lives may feel like everything around us is falling into the sea. Yet even in the reality that we’re living in, God remains the same and calls us to live without fear because of who He is not because of our circumstances.
What are you afraid of today? Bring it to God.
What are you afraid of for the future? Bring it to God.
Prayer for Today
“God thank you for being my refuge and my strength. I’m feeling fear about today, help me to experience no fear because of who you are.”
